Hi Martin,
I just tried it on my machine: ThinkPad T520, 2 years old.
I read 15 XML formatted log files (100 MB each) and it took 160 seconds. Log4View read over 2.100.000 log messages in that time.
I think, this performance is OK.
Can you give me some numbers (load time and number of log messages)?
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Yours sincerely

Betreff: Performance when opening log files
I am using the latest version of Log4View, but the performance is really bad. I am trying to load 15 log files (.log, log.1, ... .log.15) with a total size of 150 MB. It's taking ages and hanging at around 80-90%
of the progress bar. The files are in XML layout and are loaded from a local SSD on a quite new ThinkPad running Windows 7 with 8GB of RAM. In fact, the files could not be opened yet while I am writing this post. So I assume that it's not working at all.
Any help will be appreciated.
